My name is Katalin Galambos and I’m a freelance illustrator and 3D sculptor from The Netherlands who loves to combine cultural and nature related elements in artwork. I followed cultural studies in the past and after that I started my art journey with macro photography. After a while I explored other media and found my passion in digital illustration. I’m a self-taught artist and followed a lot of different courses. Next to digital painting, learning character design was one of my favorite studies. My main goal is to tell stories or express emotions with my characters and artwork.
My strongest attribute is my imagination which continually surprises people. A few years ago I fell in love with digital sculpting. It gives me an extra opportunity to express myself.
The Totems are my personal side project, the illustrations (character designs) are all built up the same vertical way like a totem pole and depict people from different cultures and countries in traditional clothing. The animals under them are also related to that country. Some of them are national animals, so that it makes a special connection between people, culture and nature. Other Totems are art-related and depicting other artists with animal characters from their artwork or sometimes their pets. I also created Totems with different types of dogs, which personally is my favorite pet animal.
Feel free to look around my creations!
